Hi Norval,
Talk about kismet....you and he in the same place at the same time!!! I am sitting here with my Balthi's trying to sort out who the Phys Ed teacher could have been. They all look so young to have been in WWII. Here are a few names: Elias Karpa, George Matthews, Charles Nanz. They are from our senior year. In our junior year, funnily enough, they were called Health and Safety Faculty. Warner Fritsch + the names above. In our sophomore year, there was a fellow listed as B. Crosby + all the above names. Hope one of them is your guy. When I lived in Caen, France during my college junior year, the family next door to where I lived were also involved in the Resistance. The stories were unbelievable and I wish I had paid more attention then to remember them all now. I am on a quest, at the moment, to find information on a young man who died on the Bataan Death March. It is leading me to all sorts of interesting finds. Hope you are well and enjoying retirement.
